chaleur

The prototype in action

A short walk through the alert experience, captured from the working prototype.

chaleur is a prompt, not a safety net. An alert depends on a phone that is on, in range and able to receive it, and on a forecast that can be wrong or arrive late, so it can miss. It is built to support a carer's own attention, never to replace it, and it is not a substitute for medical advice or emergency services. If someone is unwell, contact a doctor or call 000.

Demonstration mode. Every person and detail shown here is fictional.

The chaleur launch screen: the sun-and-circle mark on a warm cream background with the lowercase "chaleur" wordmark.
chaleur on launch.
The home screen showing Sam, postcode 3000, with a "Heat · High" badge and the line "In an area under this warning", and Eva, postcode 2087, "No current warnings", above an "Add someone" button.
The home screen lists everyone a carer looks after and shows who is in the path of an active hazard today.
An alert detail headed "Heat — high" for postcode 2087, 41°C forecast, marked relevant to Eva; the sections "Why heat matters for aged over 65, heart condition and lives alone" and "What NSW Health recommends" each carry a "Draft — pending clinical review" badge.
Each alert leads with the hazard and explains, in plain language, why those conditions matter for the person's circumstances, with every section marked draft, pending clinical review.
Recommended actions, followed by a quiet source line attributing the severity to the Bureau of Meteorology and the guidance to NSW Health, then a "What others have done" section listing "Sarah called, 10:54pm" and "You shared advice, 11:24pm".
When more than one person shares the care, the app shows what's already been done, so help isn't duplicated.
An overview for Eva showing "Clear — no current alerts", Eva's community circle (David Chen), her connected carers (You and Sarah), and the start of a past-alerts list.
Each person's overview gathers current status, their community circle and past alerts in one place.
A community-circle contact screen for David Chen showing a phone number, address and notes, and a history of check-in messages sent during heat, air-quality and UV alerts.
